For smaller training schools
After reviewing the process on admissions so far, it is clear that some of the rules/regs do not pertain to me such as accreditation and financial aid procedures. However, my question is: Do I need to provide job placement assistance when the student is using Career Central as a source of providing funding for the training as well as job placement?
Mercy,
Many schools encourage their students to come back whenever they need assistance. Other schools only provide assistance until initial placement. Rule does not specify a duration period.

After a student graduates from the institution. I understand by law we have to provide placement services. For how long (months/years) do we provide this service to that particular student?
Thank you,
Mercy
Marcia,
It is in everyone's best interest to do so. Those students are needing assistance securing the job of their career choice. Interviewing skills and sales techniques are part of the process that can be completed while they are in school.

Placement of the student in the area of training is sometimes difficult. They go through the training and find that transportation, family situation or lifestyle changes might interfer with placement at that time. Also, you might have given them the tools to take to the work place but conveying them might be hard. They are not able to "sell" themselves due to personality or other issues. Are you still accountable for these hard to place students.
Kristin,
It is a requirement of CIE to provide placement services. The level of those placement services is determined upon the school. Most schools offer assistance in resume writing and post potential job opportunities in the career services area. It is to the benefit of the school to place the student in a position relative to the career field.
