Financial Aid and tuition assistance

It is very important to make sure the applicant is informed about the terms and conditions of paying their fees.

I'm with you Summer, the student may have a basic knowledge of finacial aid available at certain institutions; but they need to be send to the FA officer to get details and specific information. They have the training required and knowledge on rules and regulations regarding Federal and State aid, specially Title IV funds.

Exactly, Piedad. I always tell prospective students that we have a financial aid department that are the experts in their department, so they are ready to meet with them to answer any of their questions. Even if I was comfortable explaining the simple details to them, I still direct them to the financial aid department so there is absolutely no confusion.

Sharon,
The required training is for admissions personnel. Financial aid certainly has its own training that is required.

Our Institution does not have a Financial Officer per say. Does the person doing the Financial advising have to have a training as well as the Admission person per the Florida Commission?

Piedad,
The students will meet up with financial aid officers who can explain all the intricate details of financial aid.

Charles,
Absolutely! They are a consumer of the product of your school. They need to understand all of their obligations and all fees paid.
