Tuition

The admissions rep needs to be informed about all tuition assistance options.

William,

All students, whether they are international or not, need to be informed on policies and procedures of your school. When things change they need to be duly informed.
Patty Aronoff

It is also important that international students are informed as much as possible by an in house financial aid specialist on sources of financing in their countries of residence, where possible.

Reginal,
That is a great tip! It shows that your school cares about the student and keeps you informed of the progress of the student through the process. It also connects the student to other staff in the school.

Patty Aronoff

One process that has worked for us is scheduling a separate appointment, either in person or via telephone, between the prospective student and our student services team. We cover very high-level information (cost, scholarships available) with the student, but defer all of the information to those formally trained in financial aid.

Deborah,

It is a best practice to have all financial information discussed by the financial services office. They are subject matter experts in paying for college.

Patty Aronoff

It is very important that all thorough information comes from the student financial services dept for tuition.

carrie,
Tuition assistance information usually comes from the finance or financial aid department. It is a best practice to allow the subject matter experts to thoroughly discuss financial options with the student.
