I agree, student services is a great way to add value to our institute. Unfortunately I don’t think that this department is advertised enough. Student services could make a student very happy or very unhappy in their school and if they are not aware of the service then it is not helping them. I believe there should be more advertisement up around campuses regarding the services we have to offer them or if they needed anything who to go speak with.
As the challenges of life continue to grow year after year, a strong student services team is critical to the success of our student. Having the ability to help them deal with life situations will increase their chances at long-term academic success.

You bring an important point to the forum in that students have "bumps in the road." The student services area of your school can have a dramatic impact on keeping them on the road to graduation.
Awell run student Services Department can be a huge benifit to the new student as they can assist students with settling into the institution. Many of our students would drop from school for reasons not directly related to the course work, it we can assist the new student to solve some of these problems the retention rate will improve.
Yes Traci we do have a fantastic student service department. Their also very knowledgeable about what the needs of the studets are.

We have a fantastic student service department, and they are very helpful to students. We are lucky that each department knows what the responsibilities are and who to go to when the students have concerns and issues.

Student services in my opinion are critical. As prospective students are not simply signing up for information, rather for a life experience that can last four years. It is imperative to explain to potential students how the institution will give them the full measure of support necessary.

Yes, they are very helpful for students. I think some institutions probably need to have a better break down of what team does what in order to help utilize each department to the fullest.
