Different Departments in your school/insitution

It is important to know the differnet departmetns in your instiution, to help you know more about the insitution itself

Jermaine,
The more you know, the better you are able to provide the information your prospective student needs inn order to make a valued decision.

Patty Aronoff

makes alot of sence to know the different departments for yourself and when you are asked questions about the different departments, you will seem knowledgeable.

Alexander,
Education is an asset. Furthering our education increases our marketability and why they should hire "me" as opposed to the other candidate. Education also proves we are interested in advancing our knowledge.

when speaking with potential students, I do refer to the level of education we offer as a product. Can an analogy be made to describe a school in a retail setting?

Jennifer,
I like your analogy. It is our job to help them put the pieces together.

A university is like a big puzzle and each department is a piece of that puzzle. It's important to familarize yourself with all departments and the employees involved in each one. This is valuable information when speaking with students! It can help you seek out clarification when needed or also assist you in knowing where to refer students to.

Edgard,
Agreed! We all have roles in the student's education.

I think it is very important to become familiar with all the departments in your institution. I also feel that you shouldnt try to do their jobs and if you have a doubt about anything outside your individual department be sure to take the student to the subject matter expert.

Alfred is correct. We do frequent focus groups with different groups of students to measure customer service. For our institution quarterly surveys and focus groups provide the best feedback on how customer oriented our staff members are.

Mark,
We must all work together for the success of our students. Otherwise we are limiting the outcome.

Varnell,
There are many people ready to assist. The students need to know other people throughout the school for assistance.

Alfred,
Customer service should be the number one focus from all departments.

Bruce,
Faculty can bring so much to the table. They have the educational and professional experience that can be shared with the reps and the prospective clients. They love to share!

The more instructors you meet and get to know, the more you will be able to discuss the quality brought to the students. For example, our clinic director has been practicing for more than twelve years and has taught for five years. He has also attended multiple intensive training events to deepen his understanding. Admissions staff are told about the quality of instructors because this gives the student a good understanding of the quality of education being offered.

Chin-Wah,
Agreed! This is where an organizational chart can be very helpful.

It is a very critical to know and understand the different departments in your institution. It enables the institution to work as a unit in serving the needs of students as well as the staff. It enhances the customer service level too.
