Student Services

What knowledge of student services does an Admissions Adviser need?

Erica,
You analogy is very descriptive and one we can certainly relate to. Thank you for your post.

I can't imagine being able to adequately serve my students if I didn't have a rudimentary understanding of our Student Services offerings. For students who are just starting, knowing what resources are available for them and being able to describe how that might impact their student experience can take a lot of fear out of the idea of starting an educational program. The admissions advisor is the first link in helping that student just by being able to explain options and opportunities. For example, for anyone who has ever learned to drive a car, having an experienced driver with you to tell you what to do when one of the gauges turns red and starts flashing can make the difference between calmly learning how to handle a vehicle and having to pull over and stop on the side of the road because you're freaking out and there's nobody to turn to. I don't want to see any of my students stalled on the side of the road during their educational journey.

Bryan,
Life has its challenges and we want the student to be successful.

Student Services are an important part of selling the institution to a prospective student. The student wants to know what resources they will have access to and also other services that will benefit them before, during and after finishing school.

Kenneth,
All admissions reps should know the student services that the school provides.
