Advertisment

I agree - word of mouth referrals are a large part of our prospective students, BUT this is only true when the students and grads of our programs are HAPPY with the quality of their program / experience. So, continued student support is also so important to create future pospects.

Rita,
it is human nature to inquire about someone else's experience. Word of mouth can be great for your school.

Lanna,
Each school's marketing plan will vary as each school's offerings and location is different.

I agree word of mouth is a great way to advertise and makes you feel very good about the quality of education you are providing to the community.

That is very true. It is great when a student is providing positive feedback about your institution, but what if the opposite is happening? I think a TV advertisement is very effective. However, it does cost alot to get the correct slots to make certain they are being seen by the target audience. MY Institution currently only uses led generation companies and job and career fairs. So far I think these two methods have worked for us.

Aylin,
A happy, successful student is your best advertisement.

Josue,
Word of mouth advertising can help or hurt you. Thus, the importance of excellent customer service during all phases of the student experience.

I agree. But we have found that working a lot on retention and providing excellent student services are two things that helped increase our referral business.
