The key word in knowledge is "know"
Understanding of your institution includes knowing all the appropriate information to help the prospect as well as helping the school stay in compliance. If you do not fully understand your school and how it works, how can the prospect? Get a general knowledge of every department in your school to be able to give the most effective, service as possible and know how to maintain compliance.
Antwan,
Your post is so inspiring! We are the gatekeepers and need to give them the best information to make the decision of their life.
Patty Aronoff
Your statements are very accurate! We do ourselves and our students a disservice by not knowing all there is to know about our institutions. It was stated earlier on that we are the "gatekeepers" to our schools and programs. How can we keep the gate if you don't know what it intels? The best service we can render to prospective and current students is knowledge, resources and point persons to get the necessary answers they are in need of.
Tai,
I agree! You have stated a best practice philosophy.
Patty Aronoff
I believe knowledge is key to compliance and integrity. It is impossible to have both if you are not fully aware of the information and procedures.
Ms. Summers
I couldn't agree more with your statement. How you can you be a resource to the student, if you are not fully with familiar with your campus and/or your P&Ps? This is a must for admission staff to be fully aware of their school and being able to be more than a roadmap to our students by a walking hand to the next step for our students.
Aundre ,
Exactly! They rely upon us for full knowledge sharing. Trust, ethics, and integrity.
