Know Your Product

It's imperative to know what your school offers and how it's going to benefit your customer. I think product knowledge is the key to success in this industry. No one wants to feels as if they are being SOLD.

Having opportunities such as those will help you grow as an individual and bring the staff together in the quest of graduating a student.

The recommendation of sitting in a class, talking to department heads and play the role of a student gives the admissions rep an insight into the experience of the perspective student. First hand accounts will always be a valuable tool when giving product/program information.

Daney,

In this day and age, I feel as though this could not be more true! So many companies are more considered with quanity over quality. Knowing what you are a representative of, what it stands for, what it can offer, etc is VITAL to the end result of the "sale". Smart people can tell the difference between someone who knows what they are talking about, are passionate, and care to make a difference, and those who are more concerned with meeting a quota than with what the facts are.
