Personal Evaluation, Accepting credits from working experience
We believe that an individual can learn certain skills and acquire knowledge from working experience. The Law Enforcement College will be offering an associate degree in Criminal Justice with two concentrations ion Cyber Crime Investigation Technology, and Homeland Security /Anti-terrorism.
I have an extensive college experience for over a decade, including graduate credits in Criminal Justice. At the same time, I was working as a contractor for Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and Federal Aviation Administration for many years. Before you even start working, you have to go through active training in the classroom and then polish your knowledge while working in the field. From experience, if I compare the knowledge I gained by being a graduate student in Criminal Justice and my training and in the field, I would say that the knowledge gained is adequate in comparison.
Unfortunately however, it is difficult to establish the perfect evaluation system and evaluation instruments to provide the fair and adequate level of credit acceptance.
Ark,
The comparison is difficult and few schools do use life credits as equivalency for educational credits. A fair and equitable process must be established for review.
