Programs a school may not have...

What is the best way to handle a potential student inquiry regarding a program that they saw on a commercial that is not offered? For example some commercials may run in a region and a school may not offer a certain course that is being marketed.

Renee,
The culture of a school plays an important role and may be the ultimate draw.

Students are normally attracted to the institution because it has what they are looking for. Also the flexibility of night and day classes, several degree programs and mostly the professionalism of the school. usually the flyers and brochures state what the school offers.

Marlen,
It is an unfortunate way to advertise and the student will not be starting out with a great impression. You are doing to right approach in turning it back around.

Ive gotten a lot of students requesting information about a specific program not offered at their location because it was shown on the tv commercials and they didnt necessarily hear/read the disclaimer. (sometimes they are super small letters or are said incredibly fast at the end of the commercial. Best thing to do is apologize, and offer them what you do have available, if they do not seem interested in relocating accordingly.

Parris,
The advertisement should carry the disclaimer that all programs are not offered at all locations. If it does not, then the ad is misleading and against Florida standard 11.
