Following up
Is it considered proper to follow up with a student even after graduation?
Ramiro,
Alumni provide a rich knowledge of the student experience, from beginning to end. We often have them come back and talk about their experiences at different campus events.

Yes, it is also important to have a permanent feedback from the alumni of your institution so the school can have a projection of how the school is doing in the market, this include where you alumni work, are they working in the area they graduated? , etc…
Melissa,
There is no definite cutoff. But best practices is a connection for life! They are often a great resource for personally developed leads.
Patty Aronoff
Upon graduation, how long should contact be made with alumni regarding a career? Until they find employment? What is a general guideline for "cut off" of follow up before a rep becomes annoying to the grad?
Tammy,
We use several different methods to follow up on leads. A tickler system is a tried and true method.
Patty Aronoff
I use a tickler even when the applicant comes in and doesn't have the fee for applying, I take their name and number and follow-up with them and usually this works well, shows them that they are important and we care.
Andrea,
Yes. You should do so in order to track placement but also they are an excellent source of PDLs.
