Student Services Department
The Career Services Department is a great tool for students to use. Unfortunatelly, in my personal experience, I have found that many student don't use these services. What do you think will be a good plan to encourage students to use these services more often?

There should be a thorough knowledge of what services are available and how to use those resources. We should provide a climate of comfort in asking for those services.

I think that student services should be discussed with each potential student. Part of thier hesitation to enrolle is fear of failure, so knowing that these services exist should aid in helping the student feel more comfortable in enrolling in classes.

Student services is the key for success before or after graduation. Therefore, I highly recommended Student services.
It is really important that all staff members and faculty members understand most, if not all, of the "Student Services" that are available to all students. Admissions Representatives need to be able to inform all incoming students about any service available to them before, during and after the admissions process.
Additionally, there should be certain individuals available to continue to remind students (via in-class presentations, emails, poster-boards, websites,ect..) about the specific things that their departments specialize in for the students' potential success in the school and beyond.

I highly recommend that Student Services be part of the admissions process as an introduction. So many road blocks can be overcome with good communication and opportunities for assistance.

Student services are a great tool and I believe that it is overlooked becaue they don't get the exposure that they should. Alot of times they would attend certain events to advertise for the school but there also needs to be some type of extra advertisement for that department within the institution itself. Students tend to forget that it's there. It should be a part of the program to sit and talk with career services at some point and time.
