Building a strong staff
I do belive that if the whole staff works together the whole school will do great!
Rachel,
We are humans after all. But professionalism should override pettiness which tells more about the person being petty.
Patty Aronoff
Sometimes no matter our well meaning effort, human pettiness does come into play. There must be an effort placed in team work and not to get under other people skin and forcing a capable worker to quit.
Krystle,
You can feel the difference! An unhappy staff or low morale will be instantly seen by those prospective students.
Patty Aronoff
Melissa ,
Very good advice! It takes an entire school to create a graduate. We all have a role to play even if it means walking with the student to get the assistance they need from another staff member.
Patty Aronoff
this is so true a great staff and team work create a great school.
It's important to never buy into the old thought process of that is not my job. Be mindful of other departments time constraints and do everything within your job description to help the process move smoother. Always use please and thank you and keep the communication between departments open. If something is not working ask advice on how to make it better.
Firmie,
Staff are the human asset of an organization. They are the most influential as we deal with students as our customer.
Patty Aronoff
Not only great, the future of the institution is also secure and promising to both staff and the students. The institution is potentially strong.
Betty,
Ownership in school operations will make the difference between a great school and a good school. When we take part of any project, we are giving of ourselves.
Patty Aronoff
As a staff we must work together. My comment is ; giving staff members a feeling of ownership so they will give you more than 100%
Juan,
I agree that a team enviroment and strog staff is essential to an institution's success. If there is misrepresentation or a broken communication between staff the reflection is on the institution and not the individual. I believe that communication skills and regular meetings are vital to overall success.
What is your best advice for building a strong staff?
carrie,
It does start there! The receptionist is the face of the institution and sets the tone going forward. We all have a role in creating a graduate.
Patty Aronoff
Everyone has to work together... it starts at the front desk and it goes all the way until the end with career services. We all build the family that helps and guides our students through their higher education experience.
Maureen,
Teams are very effective. When we work together rather than against each other, so much is possible.
Patty Aronoff
Juan,
It takes the entire school to create a graduate. We all have a part in their education.
Patty Aronoff
A team can most definitely accomplish more, be more effective, and create better processes and product results that an individual. Collective minds and staff working together is the recipe for excellence. We call that passing the baton.
