How extensive are the Student Services required to be? Can FAQ's on a website with email support be appropiate?

There are so many challenges student face while attending school. Having student resources available to help them through these challenges will reduce the drop out rate.

Student services at my institution works closely with each student and identify key students that needs assistant and try to help them as fast as possible. By doing such, it helps minimize drops due to students failing a class or all classes.
