Student services can be simply as just a listening ear. Other student services would be tutoring, life skills, connection to community resources, resume prep, and other related community connections.

Student Services is very fluid. I see it as the glue that hold all the departments together. It plays a tremendous role in retention in my institution. Some students are joggling too many things in life, they need help, guidance, and encouragement. It feels so good to be able to address a student issue that does not relate to academic and help the student finish the program.

Student services is an opportunity for us to assist our students by providing information for community resources to assist them in time of need. Often they are resources for housing, transportation, childcare, healthcare, and other vital sources for our students.
