Staying up to date with new regulations
I feel they should have more of these trainings to inform admissions reps of the changes in the industry, especially when they change so often
The more informed we are, the more accurate we can be when answering students questions.
Dale,
Continual learning is key to success no matter what we do in life.
yes i feel that training is very importance you never should stop learning
Dwight,
We all need to strive to learn more. We will be more effective and it's definitely a team effort.
This training is becoming more and more critical to all of us on a campus, not just admissions. Our success will continue to come from what we know and learn from each other and the roles our respective departments play in educating all of us to be better.
That's a great question, with a few great answers listed already... To kind of add onto this discussion, should admissions reps retake this course as well any federal courses to stay sharp on all of these rules on an annual or semi-annual basis? Is it a requirement that we must retake this specific course or are there any supplements that we can build into our continuous training?
I do think the trainings are imperaitive especially because they may affect the students and institutions success
I find myself saying this often but I am a big fan of trainings especially when the training directly effects my success. My company regularly offers mandatory training and they offer lunch and learns where they provide lunch for those who volunteer to attend the training. Rules and regulations change often and regular training is the best way to stay current.
David,
Excellent suggestion! I'll pass it forward.
