Job opportunites

The great thing about career placement is that t assist students with resume building learning how to dress for success and also help with job and externship placement.

Students are in aunique environment where the staff really care about there advancement not only on a personal level but also educational and professional level.

One team one DREAM!

I agree that Career Services is an extremely valuable tool. I find in my position as an Admission Support Representative that a majority of the potential students I speak with have job placement after graduation as a major concern and consideration for making a decision as to which school they ultimately enroll with.

Erin,
We should be taking care of our students long after graduation. It is an opportunity to serve our alumni they are part of our campus family once they graduate and the resources we have should be available long after graduation.

That is great. We get a lot of graduates calling back even to maybe look into other opportunities and see what else is going on. I love that we assist students even well after graduation. It is hard enough to find something as it is. Sometimes you need someone in your corner.

Francesca,

Career Services is a valuable resource within the school. They need to be involved with the students throughout their time there.

I agree that career placement is great. In career services we have a woman that gets all the affiliations for the different sites that are students can intern at. So, if a student wanted to work at a specific doctors office or clinic and we're not already affiliated with them she would go out and try to reserve that site. I also think it's great that they do mock job interviews and resume and cover letters. And if our students wanted to pick up a light job while in school, they have fresh job postings that come out every monday. They really do want out students to be successful.

maria,

We love that department. It is an association what needs to be developed from day one to work with students in their life changing choice.

Our Employment Services Dept is a great service to our students. They do job assistenting while students are attending school and then leads when they graduate. They also train our students with the skills to allow them to prepare own professional resume, plus the job fairs they do here on campus.

Trang,
That is a sweet deal! The student must complete the program in order to qualify but they get a trained employee in return.

We also have job placement in our institution to help student find job after graduation. Some time employer offer pay for the tuition and after they finish their course student can go work for them.

Vincent,
Great ideas!

Agreed! Career Services is introduced from day one along with resume and portfolio building workshops offered throughout their courses. We also offer business basic classes to assist the student in future endeavors which assist them with incorporating their business, financials (taxes) for the self employed and booth rental basics. It really helps the student gain the confidence and necessary business skills to succeed along with their specific training.

Monica,
Career Service should be introduced from day one to the studnts. After all, it is our goal for them to achieve their dreams and get the job!

Career Services is a great resource for students. Helping them locate jobs and put together resumes are a great way to build the students confidence and give them the tools they need to be sucessful.

Kelley,
Career Fairs are such exciting events for studentsand staff alike. It's a great way to join the community and the school.

We provide a job fair and a career guide for our students twice a year. It is a fun experience and a great opportunity for the students to meet with 40+ potential employers in their specific health care fields. We also have a job board that we post listings on and the students are able to access that through their students portal online.

Aja,
So exciting in seeing their dream being realized.

Joyce,
Your passion shows!

I feel its so important for student services to really nail down the "job opportunities" topic! I have so many students coming in to enroll in our school, but they are desparate for a job. I always make sure that I point out that finding employment is not a guarantee and that it may take a little longer sometimes to find an opportunity than they have in mind (some are realistic and hope for IMMEDIATE employment the last day of classes). But I care about these students and I want them to get the best possible benefit out of their education money! I love my job!
