Job opportunity
Get involved in your community to help your students find jobs
Wade,
You are so right! We need to be part of the community in order to enroll new studewnts and have employers for our graduates.
Patty Aronoff
Establishing relationships with local businesses and getting to know what they are looking for in prospective employees has proven to be very valuable. It opens the door for placement and gives the school the opportunity to better tailor graduates.
Josue,
Students should be provided tools to complete their own research as every situation is different. Any statistics we provide should be reliable and verifiable.
I would say is great, an even better idea if this is done on the first day or so of class. I would think it is the burden of the prospective student to do research on the field. It seems to be an obvious conflict of interest for an Admissions Rep to boast about any particular field. Admission Reps should show verified statistics to justify any claims.
Kate,
Students want to make sure they are making a decision that will benefit them in the future. By providing them the resources, they will be able to make an informed decision about their education.
Its vital to the success of a school to know about the potential jobs and possibilities.
Joann.
You are right! Knowing and networking within the community helps knowing the job market and what is available.
Knowing were the jobs are in your community, and stay activley involved with the HR department of companies that offer jobs associated with your programs will increase the information you can offer to your prospective studens.
Audrie,
Mixing school events with the community is a great way to get your school's name into other's thinking.
Audrie,
Community connections are your student's gateway to possible employment.
