I didn't know transfer of credits to and from your institution does not have to be disclosed unless the student asks.

We can only state that it is up to the receiving institution and it is their responsibility to investigate.

Every institution has its own policy for review. Credits need to be equivalent in content and credit as your school is stating the student has earned equivalent credit.

I knew that if a student had credits coming in from a another University we were to address that and the possibility that all credits may or may not transfer, but I was not aware we were to discuss the possibilty of credits from our University to another one. However, when a student comes in with credits I always try to do a pre- evaluation of their credits so they will know coming in how many creidis we will likely accept..
in my institution we accept credits from other institutions but they have to be less than 5 yrs old. is that the way it works for every other institution?
When a prospective student asks about the transfer of our credits to other institutions, we advise them of the institutions we have affiliation agreements with, and if they inquire about any other institution, we advise them that to check with that institution because transfer credit policies vary from institution to institution.

Make sure the transfer of credit wid well explained. So many just assume and then are disappointed or angry.

At my school only 2 credits can be transferred once the transcript is evaluated. I think it's important to ask if the student has taken graduate level courses per our degree program.

In all respects, a transcript must be official. Transcripts issues to a student or unofficial transcripts would notbe acceptable for compliance.

The transfer of credits is one thing but what about financial aid? for some students the funds will not be release unless all official college transcripts are receive by the incoming school.

It is the the catalog that the transferability of credits is dependent upon the receiving institution. It is the responsibility of the student to request the credits and provide the official transcript and catalog for review.
