Transfering of Credits

Can another institution not accept another schools credits just because they are the competor. Is this regulated by the state in anyway?

Akija,
It is solely up to the receiving institution and it is the responsibility of the student to do the research and provide the required documentation.

Patty Aronoff

The acceptance of transfer credits is always up to the discretion of the receiving institution. Each school has their own standard which is why we notify students that credits received at ITT are unlikely to transfer to another institution other than another ITT/ESI location.

Danny,
Transfer credits should be evaluated with an official transcript and the institution's catalog.

In the case, when a school does not accept credits from your institution, it is best to present them with a print out of the course descriptions; they may reconsider. I have been able to help a some students this way.

Kelsea,

You are correct! The school should have a process in place for determining the transfer credit.

Patty Aronoff

Cindy,
The decision on whether or not to accept credits lies with the receiving institution. It should be based on a comparative analysis.

Patty Aronoff

The transferability of credits is at the discretion of the receiving institution. The Commission requires hat these guidelines be documented
