Accreditation

Does accreditation create a greater perceived market value if not required by the industry?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Gregroy,

It is important that we do understand the difference between regional and national accreditation. We must also keep in mind that there are bogus accrediting agencies out there that have the look and feel of a real accrediting agency. Do your research and make sure that the accrediting body in question is recognized by the USDOE.

Also, it is important to remember in most markets many individuals do not have a clue of the differences between Accreditations ex. (National/Regional). So it is important to educate the potential student on the differences and use that to your advantage if you are employed by a higher governing body than your competition.

Donard,
Very true statement. The accreditation can mean the difference of going to your school or selecting another school. Depending upon what their future a is, they may need that accreditation.

Depending on your target market, accreditation can play a major role in your institution.

Anthony,
Not necessarily. Many schools are not accredited by choice. It really depends upon the focus and scope of your school.
