licensing and accreditation

Which are the differences between licensing and accreditation?

Has your facility gone through the Accreditation process, and if so how long were you all Licensed prior to going through the process.

Yesenia ,
True! Accrediting is not for every school. It is voluntary and a very expensive undertaking.

Licence is required and accreditation is volentary. Depending on the what the training or course requiers.

James,
It comes with another stamp of review and recognition. Accrediting bodies require more standards beyond the CIE and the process is consuming. Well worth it!

Many schools advertise their accredidation because it shows that they meet the standards set forth by the secretary of the usdoe. I.E. They can say that they provide quality education. Why? Because they are accredited by ..... and so on.

Yamila,

Licensing is required by the state of Florida in order to operate as an educational institution. Licensure is mandatory. Accreditation is voluntarily sought as a secondary means of educational standards recognized by the USDOE. Not all schools are accredited, but all schools must be licensed.
