Salary
Are you allowed to speak specifics on salary to the students?
Kerelyne ,
The website is reputable and timely. It does take time to drill down and see your particular area but it's a valuable resource.

I always recommend to my students to visit the
The Department of Labor web site, so they can have an idea about salary for recently graduate.
Yes, when I encounter a student that ask for that kind of information I refer them to BLS online and also tell them to read the jobs placement ads that sometime have the salary information posted.
Bridget,
I would refer them to the Bureau of Labor Statistics by the federal government. BLS provides the most current and reliable information available.
Patty Aronoff
I would also assume that we cannot give students a range that they would make - even if that is posted on a national website?
Diandra,
No you cannot speak specifics about salary to the student. Since salary is such an individualized set of information, we can only refer them to resources which they can research on their own.
Patty Aronoff
Sandra,
Correct. We are not able to speak specific salary with students. There are so many mitigating factors determining salary. Refer your students to BLS.

No, we are not allowed to speak specific salary with students. We cannot guarantee that a specific amount would be the salary they will receive upon graduation. This is against policy.
