Saying the wrong thing
What happens if you realize you said something wrong and you realize its not in compliance, do you rephrase it the right way a second time and move on or do you actually state that you gave the information wrong and here is the right information?

This is a great point to make. Sometimes our mouth opens before we think what we want to say through. There is so much fear in the Admissions "world" and it is okay to make a mistake, but quickly resolve it and let the management staff know that you delivered incorrect information in error. Keep the errors to a minimum though. This is a learning process.
Freddy,
Agreed! We all feel better when we admit that we had made a mistake and clear the air. That puts the best foot forward and shows that you are honest.

Steve,
Honesty is the best policy. There is great respect for someone who admits that they gave out the wrong information and sought out to correct it immediately.

We are humans and will make mistakes, It is best to own the error and let the person know that you made a mistake and give the person the correct information. Letting management know is critical to make sure that the mistake is document and corrected.
Great point! It’s always best to reach out to the potential student and let him or her know you were mistaken and correct it right away. It is also very important to let your manager know, and notate the correction right away. Everybody should be notified of the mistake and correction.
Marilyn,
I would say, let me correct myself and make sure that they understand that it was not correct. It's better to admit and restate and make sure that they understand.
