transfer credits

is a school required to accept transferred credits

Larry ,
Not all schools except transfer a credit for the reasons that you have stated. It costs the school money when they except transferable credits because the amount is taken off from the tuition. It also is determination on whether or not the outcomes are the same from the previous institution for the learning.

Jocelyn,
No, there are no guarantees. It is up to the receiving institution on whether not they will except the transfer of credit.

Patty Aronoff

Dwight,

You are correct! This is stated in the catalog and should be expressed to the student at the time of enrollment.

Patty Aronoff

David,
Absolutely! It is the responsibility of student to contact the receiving institution and provide them the required documentation for review of transfer of credits.

Patty Aronoff

Jasmine,
It is a requirement that is responded to in the catalog. There is no guarantee that the receiving institution will accept the credits.

At my institution i questioned one of our admissions representative about transfer credits and it was explained to me that very rarely we do. The two reasons are; first most core classes that could be accepted don't meet the types of training our classes offer. I.E. THE Math and Sciences taught here is a different curriculum than at a normal 2 or 4 year institution. Secondly the classes are built into the students 2 1/1 day program and there would be nothing for the student to do if they weren't in the classroom

The award institution cannot guarantee transfer, because it is up to each individual institution if they will accept it or not.

Transfer of credits is made at the discretion of the receiving institution.

A lot of perspective students ask about transferring credits upon graduation. My advice to them is to contact the college they are interested in attending and talk to them about the policy. I helps them to plan so they know what to expect.

Most schools will inform students it up to the receiving institution.

Latisha,

No, actually many schools do not except any transfer credits.
