Should a student be refunded, if upon establishing a contract with an institution, job placement is promised but is never fulfilled?

crystal,

No promises, but we can provide solid assistance to the students in their career quest. The investment of the school and the students perspective employment is time and money well spent.

George,

They should be reported immediately to CIE. They have a reporting line to their website as well as direct email. Please always report as the commission relies on the community at large to be their eyes and ears.

Although it is not allowed this is seen all the time. I am not aware of any insitiutions being penalized for this practice.

An institution cannot promise job placement but when exploring career options I found it very helpful that my institution included state and county statistics for growth and average pay. This is a great tool to see what the career is like in the local area but students are responsible for further research because career growth and need vary from city and state.

Who should we report misleading ads to?

Sandra,

An institution cannot guarantee placement. That is strictly prohibited by the rules. We provide placement assistance, but there are no guarantees.
