Salary question concern
If the student as how much can they earn from this career, what kind of method is best to show them from data?
rolando,
Salaries cannot be quoted unless backed up by legitimate resources. It is just better to provide solid resources so they can do their own research. There are just you many variables to go down that road.

I always inform students that salary can depend on many factors - experience, geography, job market etc.
I always recommend they research on their own and suggest they start at www.bls.gov. In addition to salary the site provides many useful statistics for anyone interested in that career. The career center is also a great choice.
Leslie,
You can provide them access to certifiable websites and let them do their own research. We should never quote salaries unless providing the sources from which the information was derived.

When asked by a prospective student "how much can they earn from this career" can I search the internet for salary wages in this state for that particular career and give them that information?
Kristina,
When we provide information regarding salary, we must be in compliance with rule. Best bet is going to career services.

The way i respond to this question is.I always take them to career services.
Tung,
The best way to handle this situation is to provide them the resources to do their own research.
