We serve students with developmental disabilities, so unfortunately, some students will be not be eligible for the program due to ratios needed to ensure student safety and behavior challenges. We maintain a complete list of resources to refer them to, develop and cultivate relationships in our community with other human services agencies and resources, and work with families individually to assist them in locating and utilizing resources that are needed for their child.
I for one do this on a regular basis. I take the time with each denied applicant to discuss where the committee saw weaknesses and steps to take to improve upon them.
