Training beyond the Admissions Department
It is important to engage the other departments with the Admissions Representatives in their initial onboarding and periodically throughout the year. Guest speakers from other departments monthly as part of the admissions training throughout the year.
Maria Mercedes,
We always need training and an environment such as ours which is very dynamic, there is always something new to learn.
Patty Aronoff
It is critical that the new employees training is established as a program or system covering all University department or areas, not as continued development, but more importantly, as a requirement for new employees. The education business is extremely complicated and regulated meaning that associates that do not have any experience in this field will need additional training, no matter in which department they will be working.
Nick,
Excellent! Faculty have so much to bring to the table when we are talking about our programs. they are the subject matter expert's and provide valuable information that can transcend to the prospective student.

Yes Patti,
This perspective is so true. It takes a village.
And, in creating a culture of compliance that also means we have to be accountable for what we say to our student--each staff, faculty and admissions team member and alumni.
It is so important each year to give and receive updates and to create tools that allow us all to be updated with new information, new programs on an ongoing basis.
Adrianne Jones
We meet with our faculty to have a better knowledge on what courses are taught in our degree programs and understanding what key skills our programs will teach our students.
Patty,
I love what you say about taking an entire school to create a graduate. I am so fortunate to work for an institution that embraces this philosophy. Everyone pitches in and helps out with only one goal in mind...successful graduates who garner the most out of the program. Since we are always assisting other departments when necessary, we have a better understanding of how the whole system works.
We are also encouraged as admissions staff to attend any training that is offered so that we may better understand the materials and be more informed when we talk with prospective students.
Michele
Nelson,
The other departments can help us do our jobs better by training us in their respective areas. Since it takes an entire school to create a graduate we must be working together.
