Benefits of Admissions Training

According to the course, and in practice here at the College, continuing admissions training can help us in the admissions field (or those in any way involved with the admissions process) stay up to date with the current laws, rules, and practices required of our positions. I believe it is extremely important to follow the guidelines provided by the state to ensure that we do not mislead students in enrollment, and also to help protect the culture of higher education. The idea of "Transparency" mentioned in this section is, in my opinion, the key to providing successful, compliant, admissions services.

Mickie,

It puts us at risk of inadvertently providing wrong information. However, CIE considers this a violation of rule. There is no excuse for providing wrong information.

Patty Aronoff

I strongly agree. Not staying up to date on admissions training not only affects the student but could affect the school entirely if incorrect information is giving and/or enrolling someone who is not fully qualified into the school.

Katherine,
It should be a continual review so that everyone is following the same pathway.

Patty Aronoff

Misha,
Transparency should always be practice no matter what role we play. Any type of misinformation is against the rules of the commission.

Patty Aronoff

It is very important that the institution provide anual training to their staff about the laws and regulations, that way we ensure there are no mistakes in the enrollment process.
