Some Schools do not accept credits from another institute

Some schools do not accept the credits from another school for good reason

Shannon,

Many schools do not except transfer credit. The reason that you give here today is one of those reasons. Transfer credit also may bring scheduling issues, and it also reduces revenue.

Patty Aronoff

Yes! Our school doesn't accept transfer credits because our program is a lock-step program meaning that all of the students take the same classes at the same time. This builds HUGE bonds between people in their cohort. We would not be able to create that bond if people were able to transfer in with half credit halfway through the program.

Daniel,

Many schools do not accept any credits at all. Other schools have a very tough transfer policy. Whatever your institutions demands, it must be stated in the catalog. Transfer credits are always determined by the receiving institution..

I believe this will actually depend on the type and source of the credits that the student wishes to transfer. The determination to accept the credits is at the sole discretion of the gaining institution. At my institution we are up-front about this with our prospective students and we state that it is unlikely that credits earned here will transfer to another institution.

Glenda,

That is correct. Many schools do not accept any credits for transfer. That is strictly up to them.
