Placement
Introducing new students to career services department is always good in my opinion .
Yaima,
Working with your services should happen from the beginning when the student first signs the enrollment agreement. We are working towards that end goal of getting the job.
Patty Aronoff
Neldys,
We should always be looking at the end goal in mind. You start there and then work your way to the goal.
Patty Aronoff
The goal of the students must be learn to get employment in the field. This is the best way to guide the student to complete the program and get a employment.
Our experience, from the start we must guide to the students about the importance and the goal of the instruction is the way to get employment.
Scott,
Career services is an important part of the student experience. Students that work with career services from the very beginning are very prepared for what lies ahead and when they graduate.
Patty Aronoff
We always talk about how our career services department works and always give the prospective an opportunity to speak to them.
Gail,
Start working with them from the beginning in preparation for seeking that coveted job. Develop your community relations, they are your potential employers.
Patty Aronoff
John,
That is great! Providing listings helps the students, the school and the community.
Patty Aronoff
With all the new placement rules from the Department of Education and the accreditdating committees, what are some ideas to make sure graduated students are placed in their field of study?
We have a rather large job board here. It is constantly upgraded when businesses fax or e-mail us any new openings. The students are always keeping their eye on new listngs.
Madeline,
Absolutely! Career Services should be part of the student experience from day one.
Patty Aronoff
A visit to the career service department is the best choice at the first visit at the school, the customer gets a chance to speak and ask question about their career future and interests.
Greg,
We all have a role in the success of our students and we all have the same goal.
Patty Aronoff
Jose,
Make it part of the total student experience!
Patty Aronoff
Ron,
Agreed! The more Career Services knows the student, the better they can work to get them placed.
Patty Aronoff
Jessica,
I would suggest that the student be introduced to career services on their tour. Staff should be part of the entire student experience, not just at the end.
Patty Aronoff
I agree and think this is a KEY factor in the student experience. It gives the student confidence and encouragement to "own their program" and see that they can achieve what their final goals.
A trip to career services is a must. They can help the student understand what kind of opportunities are available to them upon graduation.
Students should remain in touch with Career Services throughout enrollment
