Foreign Student Enrollments.
Foreign students would not necessarily have a social security number, alien card, etc. but would be permitted to attend classes if they were in the USA on a student visa and plan to pursue their education here and return to their country of residency thereafter. Can we enroll those students in our school programs? Is there some other permission document that they would need to acquire prior to enrollment?
Miriam, that is great information. Our campus was just approved to accept international students. There is an official approval process. I was required to take a course and exam to qualify as a DSO (Designated School Official) for my campus. There are specific rules and regulations that govern this process.
simone,
Foreign students must meet the ICE requirements for entry into school. You should check with the federal guidelines to be sure.

As far as I know, students with student visa can request a Social Security- The SS specify that they are not allowed to work.
Miriam,
Thank you for the link! Great information to pass on.

As a former International Admission Representative and DSO, (Designated School Official). My guidance was with SEVIS, (Student Exchange Visitor and Information System). www.sevis.gov. And the USDOE. Please check them out.
MONIQUE ,
You need to check with USDOE on the foreign student requirements. They are very specific.
