High School Students

It's important to be accurate when working with students.

Renee,

When dealing with minors, we must always deal with the parents or legal guardians. Just requirement of law.

Patty Aronoff

lisandra,
No matter what information we provide, it must be clear and correct. Make sure your prospective student understands the information you provide.

Patty Aronoff

Dayana,
All entrance requirements must be fully stated in the catalog. If a high school diploma is required for entrance, then the student must provide an official transcript showing that they have achieved a high school diploma.

Patty Aronoff

There is now a new step where we have to contact parents of the dependents. We are suppose to make sure parents are on board and find a good time for them to come in and do financial aide process.

And the student must have a high school to study at my institution.

yes, is very important to give the right information to the student

Alicia,
High school should prepare the students for a continuing education beyond high school. Public speaking and writing is essential in today's college world. Many students become very shy and won't ask any questions when they need to.

Patty Aronoff

Definitely! I know my niece and nephew don't ask any questions at all - but their mom is all about the questions! Finance, transportation, campus security, dorms, you name it! Perhaps, HS students should take public speaking classes in HS so they may speak up at college fairs and meetings.

jackie,

The high school market is a great one to tap into. Getting their mindset on a career early is so important.

Patty Aronoff

Elicia,

When dealing with minors we should always have the parents involved. They are the contractual signer as well.

Patty Aronoff

it is exciting to see high school students schedule the campus tour and receive information on the desired program. They are setting a goal and determining the right career path at a young age.

I agree Andrew. Must of the student came with the parents is more easy to deal with both at the same time because parents ask more questions thet the students.

We to agree that a high school student and/or adult student interested in a program, bring a parent, spouse or friend for questions etc during the school tour. We explain that it is important to have someone besides yourself to be a positive influence in your career. As well as, it makes for a successful event with family support in anything we do.

Alain,
The student is a minor, then the parent or legal guardian must be present. As a minor, they are not able to sign a contract on their own.

Patty Aronoff

Andrew,
Anytime we are dealing with minors, the parents or legal guardian must be present.

Patty Aronoff

I truly agree, the majority of the time parents play an important role. they want to know where their sons are going to study at.

Accuracy is very important, but it is also important to have a HS students parents present because in many cases the parent will have many more questions than the student.

William,
Accuracy is the top priority. If we give incorrect information we can easily mislead the student which is against the law.
