admissions leadership

What are the most important qualities and responsibilities of an admissions leader?

Miriam,
We should be practicing as you state. Our customers are students and when they come to our school they are seeking to change their lives.

Applicants continually search for a formula to attract the attention of admissions officers, but the only thing that always works is being an all-around student. We try to understand the student as a whole person, and also to understand how he or she has performed in the context of whatever academic and community opportunities he or she has encountered. We seek academic excellence, evidence of leadership and integrity, and evidence of high personal impact on others.

Robert,
Leadership is key. Leadership draws everyone together and keeps the level of compliance high.

Leadership in the admissions department is a very important position. This will determine whether your admissions department is on the same track and has the same goal as the leader.

Greg,

Collaboration with other departments is key. Students will often go from department to department and they should always receive the same answer no matter who they speak with.

as stated in the program here, setting the compliance mindset and then working with the admissions team to bring a positive energy to the effort. I also thin collaboration skills with all the other departments is key.

Brandon,
Student services is an important part of any school campus. The services they provide make the difference between staying in school and dropping out.

The Education Department is responsible for instructors, programs, learning materials, class assignments, and intern- and externships and clinics. The instructors and externship and clinic coordinators typically report to the Director of Education. Student Services is another department that provides services to the student body. They are responsible for student success, library resources, career placement services, and alumni organizations. This can be one person or a staff of several individuals.

Jeffrey,
Leadership in admissions is the driving force of the entire team. They set the tone and goals for the admissions staff. The admissions leader is the go to person for all questions and directions.
