Placement Services
In my opinion, the placement coordinator should always meet the student BEFORE they begin their program. They are able to set their expectations on the front end so the student knows what to expect by the end of their program. This method seems to be working very well with my school.
Maria Mercedes,
You have to make the effort. If they are not willing to spend the time that is different then you not providing the time.

I agree with you that career and placement information is essential for a student before enrolling. However, it is for sure that students are not always willing to take that much time during their visit to the Institution before enrolling. It is very difficult to make students understand the importance of knowing all the details before making an enrollment decision. How do you manage to fulfill the student satisfaction on time schedule and give him all the necessary details including placement tests?
Carla,
I think we all can agree that placing the student in the career field of their choice is the ultimate goal of gaining an education. If we start from the beginning, we are well prepared.
Patty Aronoff
I do agree if we have the student meeting with Placement staff from the beginning will help them understand the importance that will be the way are in school will continue at work. and guide them from the start the importance they need to participate.
Carla
Eduardo,
Positive reinforcement is an excellent tool. When we review with the student their accomplishments they can see the goal ahead.

Judy,
Have a career services is definitely a strong part of the student experience. They should be working with the student from day one in order to prepare them for graduation and subsequent job interviews.
Patty Aronoff
It is a great idea because it provides the prospective student with a formal understanding of what possibilities are ahead upon completion of the program. Positive reinforcement to follow through with their goals.
I agree, I make visiting our Career Service part of my Tour.
Shannon,
I would agree! It is important that career services start working with the student from the moment they begin their academic experience. After all we are partnering to assist at student after graduation
