Organization
I believe that staying organized can help you in your personal and professional life. I always like to keep binders or manila folders that contain any useful information that I might want to go back and look at. I have printed out the pages from this training and then can leave it at my desk. I will be able to go back to the binder whenever I want to double check any questions I might have.
I'm a bit on the OCD side. :) I definetly feel that it helps with the job and it is one thing that I try to work with my students on. It helps to make their admissions time easier and more efficient, as well as getting them off to a good start with their classes. I keep hoping that my OCD will rub off on them. :)
Keeping a binder and folders in my desk with information has been helping me greatly with this job. Anytime I get new information I print it and put it in the respective folder, that way when I am refreshing myself the information is all there.
I personally love the idea of keeping all important files in a binder, especially just starting off. It is nice to know where things are when I need them! I have also been highlighting my notes for the stuff I know i will need to remember in the future.
I find being organized it the key to being successful. I believe that every person is different for how they need to stay organized. I know what works personally best for me are highlighting and even rewriting my notes.
Organizational skills are a must in everyday life in my opinion. Without it the chances of missed opportunities and confusion greatly exceed. I find keeping all my information in a binder filed according to importance is a must for my success.
This is a great idea Alyssa, the more information you have readily available the more likely you are going to periodically use that info to brush up on the rules and regulations
