New to Admission
I am brand new to admissions. I am glad they have guidelines becuase we want to make sure we are protecting the student and doing everthing for the student to succeed.
The training to understand the state requirements, the understanding of the responsibilites of an Agent, is so crucial to our role as an Admission Advisor. It helps us understand the solicitation of our potential students being enrolled in career schools and colleges. The rules and laws clearly establish that a representative is responsible for any violations, and as a result, their approval to serve as a representative could be suspended or revoked. Clearly by understanding these, we can be successful Agents for our potential students to help them reach their goals, morally and ethically.
Welcome to the fabulous world of admissions Alicia! I have worked in admissions for almost 8 years and I find it to be truly rewarding; however it is critical to you, the organization and the student to stay compliant with the rules and regulations. I personally have had to terminate employees for breaking compliance rules and DOE guidelines; have a resource books is extremely beneficial to ensure that you are up to date on any changes. Good luck and happy enrolling!
It is important to follow the guidelines, and do so in a professional manner. This is an excellent way to set the expectations for the student and show them the positive results that await them upon graduation.
