Counselors vs. Agents
I didn't fully understand the difference between the two when used in an educational capacity. The explanations definitely shed light.
This is a tough topic but after reading the material, agent "is defined as a person empowered to act for another" i.e. the school they are working for whereas a counselor "advises students while they are pursuing training".
In these terms the switch from the term admissions counselors to admissions agents or representatives makes sense because it allows us as agents to make judgement calls for students who are looking for the proper fit of a school rather than advising the student on how to roll through their program at that school.
After reading the material again I now understand the difference.
I would have liked to see this topic discussed more in depth.
