Students
What is the best way to handle the objection. "I don't know what I want to do as my career, I ahve thought about it an nothing stands out"?
I have always felt that the best way to deal with this situation is to learn more about the students likes, goals and motivators.
I always take this question as a opportunity for me to do more fact finding. Ask more questions of the student to help them learn how to help them themselves by simply talking things through and out loud. So just ask more questions.
This is not really an objection it is just a need to know more statement. It can be taken care of by asking fact finding open ended questions to determine what the individual enjoys and their goals.
I feel the best way to address the objection, "I don't know what I want to do as my career, I have thought about it and nothing stands out" is to encourage them to talk to a career counselor at the institution to career plan with them.
I would also encourage them to inform themselves of programs they might be interested in by directing them to the school's website or transferring them to admissions.
