I don't believe that we do. Our space is somewhat limited, but I could easily get a room set aside one day for interviews. What would you suggest is the best way about getting the employers to agree to come in?

Jason:

Some schools that are approved in Ohio are very small (less than 10 students a year) and provide very limited placement services, like a jobs board. This would only be appropriate at very small schools where no specific placment services are promised to students.

Almost all of the larger schools actively promote their career services and, depending on the size of the school, will have one or more employees dedicated to helping students with placement.

Meghan, does your school have any rules that prohibit bringing in employers to conduct interviews?

Jason, that sounds incredible. I am the SOLE staff member in charge of Career Advising. I would love to have a whole staff to work toward getting our students employed. I have a job board, I set up Mock Interview Sessions, Orientations, and consultations with students about interview etiquette. I also send out weekly job postings to our Consumer Student listserv. Let's just say it's a little bit exhausting as one person. :) I love the idea of bringing in companies/interviewers to our center - basically like a job fair, right?
