Is Agent Training a one-time requirement?

It is necessary to satisfactorily complete the Agent Training course before you can work as an Agent or Admissions Representative.

It is also necessary to keep up to date with new regulations and policies and complete continuing education as required by your school.

I believe it is necessary to complete the training but to also refresh yourself on the regulations and policies so that you are always knowledgeable about the rules.

There is no doubt that annual certification is important. Things change and occasionally some pieces of information not used as often get put on the back burner and need refreshed.

I have been an Admissions Representative for over 7 years for two different institutions. I have found that the agent training is important being that no schools are exactly alike in policy nor procedures.

I agree. I think a refresher course for the"seasoned" Agent or Admission Rep is a great idea. We are in the education business. We should continue to learn and grow in our role too.

I agree, it's important to check each month - it's imperative to know, learn, and implement any changes and communicate those to new students.

Not only is this training needed and required, but completion of this training will in the end enable each of us to be a better representative fro our prespective institutions.

I do think that there should be required refresher training at prescribed intervals. I would recommend having represtatives take a pretest before such training in order to see if it is needed.

I beleive the agent training is a great requirement for admissions representatives. In addition, I beleive it would be very beneficial to have additional training for agents renewing their licenses. In doing so, admissions staff would always be required to stay up to date and informed of admissions practices and changes.

The CM202 agent training course is required for all admissions reps during 2011. Beginning in 2012, only new admissions reps will be required to take the course.

The State of Ohio is in the process of developing additional training courses that may be required for agents renewing their licenses in 2012.

It is necessary to complete the training to bbe able to enroll students in school. Continuous education should be performed. This is done in the form of training at your institution, reviewing the Ohio State Board info monthly and completing the required continuing ed courses.

As long as you are checking at least every 30 days for any potential updates, you should be on top of things.

This is not only important because of our guidelines, it is important to providing the right student experience.

To stay up to date with all the latest and be good at what you do, continuing education is always best.

No because rules and regulations can change from time to time. Refresher courses are also valuable to remind representatives of issues they may not have encountered recently. At some schools they may not be involved in the financialaid process but still need to be updated on new opportunities for the perspective student to consider.

It should not be, but in many cases it is. it is very important to receive all information to ensure the student is receiving the best service possible and the agent in fully informed to execute well.

In addition, we are required to review the policies and procedures at least one time each month to determine if any updates have happened since the last update was available. We also supply quarterly refresher training to all agents on overall compliance related topics.
