Paperwork
Make sure you have disclossed everything.
In this program this campus is one of 39 schools of nursing nationwide. All standardized forms come from HQ with the instructions to adjust to the state, local or organizational rules in the area. Then we look at it for compliance with WV,KY as well as OH for compliance with the laws governing recruitment
We are committed to disclosing all appropriate information regarding, admissions, tuition, credit hours, course requirements, all contact information graduation requirements and all the other information required. We do have a check list to be sure that everything reguarding admission process, transfer of credits, finacial aide, the nursing program requirement and pre-requisites etc are clearly outlined in the pre admission packet and again in orientation with the student signing documents that they indeed did receive the documents, read them and understand them and that they may ask questions at any time to clarify their position.
If we expect honesty, integrity and excellence in our students we must be no less. Correctly doing the paperwork set the tone for the student experience. If we are making mistakes, we set the student up for failure, and distrust of the system
I agree be upfront with students
Disclosing all the information is the most important thing we can do with our students. Missing information can instill mistrust in the student and violate OACC policies.
Of course we must disclose everything, but it is also important to do it in a very organized way in order to insure that the prospective student understands what he/she is getting into.
It is important that the paperwork is completed accurately and fully with every person that is enrolling.
