Admissions paper work
This information is extremely important. Our company provides much of the same information that is in the catalog as part of the admissions file. Do you think this is redundant or good practice
I think that some level of redundency is helpful. Not only for the student that gets to see it over and over, but for the Admissions Officer as well. Seeing things in writing that are compliant, help train us to make sure that we're always saying things in a compliant manner as well.
I believe having this information in more then one space is very important to the students and to the admission representative. It is beneficial to the student because it is important that the
applicant is fully informed on their rights and responsibilities. Including a complete understanding of the require information that is covered.
It is a lot of information to be covered so it is helpful for me because the more areas that terms and conditions are covered, the more practice I receive in retaining this information and making sure it is covered thoroughly with the student. I am a firm believer that having this information in several different areas create better understanding in all aspects amoung the applicant and Admissions representative.
I think it is essential for students to have more than one source for important rights, rules and regulations (i.e. tuition, cancellation policy, refund requirements) especially since they are bombarded with so much new information at one time. The enrollment process can be very overwhelming and I think it is helpful for students to have some documents to return to if they are unsure about something. Additionally, it ensures that they are informed about important topics thus helping them to be succesful while they are enrolled in school.
The more a person hears or reads something, the better it stays with them and they understand.
I agree. It's very helpful to have the same information in various locations for quick and easy access.
Setting clear expectation with your student on what is involved and what will be required of them always makes for a better experience. Of course you cannot set those expectation unless you fully understand the paper work involved, why it is needed and explain things clearly to your student to ensure they understand.
I think that it is good practice after a while you will be a pro and your day should run a lot easier.
There is an enrollment paper work checklist that gets reviewed by the admissions advision, admissions coordinator, and registar before the student file is created.
It is good practice. Honestly the more places you have the information, the more awareness there will be for the student. I went to a larger school and this information was never presented to me. It is usefull and helpful I think for any student to know.
I feel as though there can never be a redundant practice when it comes to the acdemic success and lawful practices. Haveing more locations to acceess important information ensures that uptdate and accuate information is availble
