I am a new Representative

I am a new Representative. I have started a Reference Guide of this information, but I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to how to keep this organized since there is so much information.

I believe the best way to keep all of the paperwork organized is by place it in a 3 ring binder. I would also suggest to add seperation tabs.

Hi Donielle,
I am also a new Admission Rep and what I feel is best for me is to keep a 3 ring binder on my desk with all my students information, I also keep a file on my desktop. Though it may seem a tad overboard its always best to have an extra copy just in case. Good Luck

I also like the ideal of a 3 ring binder, I think it is much easier to access, then just having it stored on your desktop.

What information is everyone putting in their books

I keep a file on my desktop with .PDF versions of all reference materials. It is paperless, "green", easily searchable and documents can be attached to an email.

Electronically filing information saves some much time and paper, as information changes on a daily basis. I normally put prospective students in categories: pending, accepted and enrolled students. Physical files are kept, but this allows for other staff to access information on the spot. Excel has become my best friend.

I agree with the answer, " am using a Large 3-ring Binder ( I think a 2inch)with Binder tabs to keep my information organized. I am also planning on creating an electronic file on my desktop. Good Luck!!!"

Good luck!!

Hi Donielle,

I have found it very helpful to have a 3-ring binder, labeled "RESOURCES" stored in my desk drawer directly next to my phone. Colorful tabs make for easy access to information. When a prospective student asks me a question I am able to quickly give them the most appropriate (and compliant) answer possible.

Three ring binders seem to be the most popular but I find it much easier to create PDFs of my reference materials and combine them into one document.

I really like the idea of the three ring binder. I would have the tendency to store it on the computer and forget about it. I find it easier to read the print out version too.

The 3 ring binder is the way to go! If you electronically put it on your computer, you will never look at it! At least with the binder it is physically in front of you which will remind you to use it as a resource! Good Luck!!

I found a three-ring binder and placed the printed information from this site into separate catagories for easy referencing at a later time when needed. I have a three inch binder as I am setting up my help-book for my new admissions position.

There are two way of doing this. One way is file it electronically and this saves on paper and time waiting at the printer. The main thing you want to fous on here is organization and titles to files. The print and file into a 3 ring binder is also a good idea as you canjust enter the printed notes in an ordeally fashion once you get to that web page and print it. This keeps it in the same order as the website has it. Good Luck :)
