Admissions Paperwork
I wonder why more of the paperwork required of the admissions process can't be digitalized? It seems so outdated to have carbon copy anything, especially enrollment agreements....
We have just recently converted to digital Enrollment Agreements and digital (PDF) disbursement of the school Catalog. What a great change this has been. Everything is typed or clicked from a pull down menu on the Enrollment forms and the Catalog can be updated as often as necessary without addendums and corrections adding to the paperwork. I find this a welcome change, more efficient, less chance for errors and we are killing less trees!
It is vital for audits and as a back up to have hard copies of waivers, forms and agreements. Although modern technology is a great way to go green, it is important to provide the enrolling student with a copy of all forms required for admissions.
I think many people are trying to switch to digital not only in the admissions filed but everywhere regarding paperwork, but like most of you brought up, things with technology can go wrong, so I think it is always safer to have hard copies around.
I just started working for admissions and from what I have seen in my department they are working on moving some things to being digital. That is going to save time and also not having the problem of files getting lost in other departments.
I agree! I make copies of everything in the event something gets misplaced in another department!
i agree with Michael. hard copies are always good to have in case there are technology mishaps or if a student has questions, or if audits are needed.
Although I agree, there seems to be easier ways to keep track of the paperwork, it is also nice to have the hard copy in your hand. Also, when a family has signed off on it, easier to bring back to their attention.
