Financial Aid
We as reps do provide an overview of the financial resources available, it is not our job to walk the student through the financial aid process. Our Financial Aid staff will assist in facilitating that.
I am very appreciative for our financial aide experts. Not only do they educate the students but the educate me as well.
I am grateful that we are permitted to discuss financial aid to an extent, but I am also thankful that we cannot delve into it. It would be another learning curve & would take away from recruiting and follow-up time.
Most of the time that is such the deciding factor for most student is the cost. Most of the time when a student has been in and out of school and has to take out loans before. So they have a lot of questions but know the process. We just need to help them and direct them in the right direction in a professional way to the right people.
I agree that reps should have a general knowledge of financial aid, and should be able to appropriately point the student in the direction of getting the financial aid questions answered.
I agree. A lot of students are very concerned about tuition costs and want to discuss that before moving on to anything else. We do have a very strict guideline of what we can tell out students about financial aid, which helps them understand the process.
