marketing
Other than the normal means of marketing what are some other unique ways to market outside businesses?
I think word of mouth is a big form of marketing.
Word of mouth is really powerful. Using Social media such as "Facebook" can be very useful.
I completely agree! Community involvement is a wonderful way to have mutual and equitable outcomes. I love community events, it feels like you are supporting the community, and helping your school! Great suggestion!
I think that community involvement is a great way to market the university... I work with a group of volunteers that feed approximately 1000 people per month. It would be a great idea to get our addmissions team involved while wearing our South University shirts.
Ask for refferals during all phone conversations and in any interview.
wwe try to sponsor events in the are, horseshoe turnaments and any festival would be happy to host your school's booth. When the general public has a chance to see you in a relaxed atmosphere the sales presentation isn't hang over your conversation...and I get alot of referralls that say "my Grandma saw you at the fair and told i should call".
I think that word of mouth is an old way of getting your schools name out there, but it is very consistent.
Community involvement.. Is the key.. Try volunteering at the soup kitchen. Some of our students got together and put on their school t-shirts went down and in an hour served over 300 people. We help the local red cross chapter. It has really started to spread our name through the community and it is shining a positive light on our school.
We have students complete an information sheet at the front desk before meeting with an admissions representative. The information sheet has a question that asks for referrals.
When I ask for a referral, I like to have the student tell me why their friend needs school. Also, it's a good idea to have the prospective student text or call the referral while they're still in front of you because they are more likely to respond to a friend than an unknown number.
Well, there is plenty of ways to market outside business from my perspective. Always keeping your business cards available, word-a-mouth, referrals, and just networking with the first impression that I just want you to know who I am. Trust me they will be interested in knowing what you do for a living. Building partnerships with other corporations allows us to further our contacts for our graduating student because our training is the best and thats what we have to believe; Real World Experiences!
Referrals are probably the biggest lead you can capitalize on and its free!!!!!!!!!
I recruit many of my students from current students. A happy student is your best marketing tool. Many times I will ask my students if they know of any other person(s) who they think could benefit from this type of training.
Considering the power of social networking sites in 2011, schools should tap into this resource and utilize Facebook, Twitter etc to reach their target population. Also, obtaining referrals from prosepctive, current and/or former students can generate new leads.
Community involvement. Fostering a relationship with people of the city/ state you are located in. Giving back is a good way to build relationships and get your students involved.
That is a fantastic way to get a name. I like how its still fresh in the prospects mind and they seem to be more apt to giving a friends name at this point.
I always carry cards with me as well. Any chance I get to bring up where I work, and the programs we carry, I take advantage of it. I don't bring it up with every person, but you learn when are where to do it.
Not just college nights, but career fairs are a great way to meet people who may want to further their careers through education.
Referrals are a very important process to generating new leads.
