Student services is a vital part of the success of the school. Support during a student's education is important. We inform prosepective students about student services during the tour and they also participate in orientation and dorm move-in so students are able to feel comfortable utilizing student services once they start school.
Student Services of any kind are vitally important because it tells the student as well as parents that they are not just leaving the student to fend for themselves. It shows that the school thinks of its students as students, not just numbers in a system.

Because there is no physical campus to tour, it is even more important that "New" online students have a department to look to should there be any doubt as to how things work online, how to contact various departments and where to find other useful bits of information. Orientation online is critical and Student Services is the best department to assist with this.
Student services is a vital piece in education. My school's admissions dept. works closely with career services. touring a campus tour, prospective students get to meet the carrer services team, including the director and get their questions and concerns answered.
